V-Day
« on: February 04, 2009, 10:14:21 pm »
I will be collecting a little bit of money so that we can send Melinda something for Valentine's Day this year.  I thought flowers at first, but not sure where she will be on Valentine's Day, and if she is traveling she may not be able to enjoy them.

I am thinking we collect about $100 for something.

Please offer some suggestions . .candy, cupcakes, something else?

You can send the money to my paypal account

Done in short order. Thumbs Up Candy?
Or what about one of those personalized teddy bears, dressed in a backups shirt? Dunno

How about a charm to add to her bracelet in celebration of her first CD release?

Awesome idea, OS! Huzzah!

El, what a wonderful and thoughtful idea! Huzzah!

I was also thinking of having some (a dozen?) towels (for her face) embroidered with MD and Coming Back to You 2009 tour.  When she did the Music JAM in Nashville last August, she had to look for a towel to wipe off her sweat mid-set.  She eventually found one but I think it was one that one of the guys wiped his guitar with...  What do you think???

Hey, the Charm idea is good; I really like the teddy bear or embroidered towel idea, too.  Yeah!

If we  can get the Teddy Bear to reference her cutely, such as with long styled brunette hair, or something else iconic ...

I like the charm (a CD-shaped charm, I would hope), too, because it emphasizes continuity with the past.

All of your ideas are great!  Big hug

I think if we can, we should go with the charm. The charms were chosen perfectly and thoughtfully to reflect significant things in her life, and this is certainly significant.

Let's do it!  Cheerleader Banana

The charm idea is great. I will check how quickly they can do the engraving. Will need more than $100 though.

ITA.  The charm captures the backups love since we're just adding onto the bracelet she already has Thumbs Up

I think the towels can be a concert gift. Lightup

According to the website with these charms, they can be shipped often same day. I figure we'll need about $150 total for white gold charm, engraving and shipping to Melinda.Maybe I'll throw in some nice chocolates too.  Thumbs Up

Please contribute whatever amount you can, and I will cut it off when I have $150!
