Flower Projects, Just an Idea!
« Reply #6 on: November 24, 2008, 02:00:46 am »
Hi everyone, I was asked to post my idea about flowers by some the Leadeship Team Members. Guys the following is an idea in light of the tight economy and big budget crunch that many of us are facing today.  My thought regarding flowers are as follows:

I think that flowers should go to Mel the opening nite and closing nite and in between if someone wants to donate to the scholarship fund in her name to email her and tell her so for that event.

Times are hard. My budget is maxed and a donation to the fund is much easier to handle. And I think Mel would be happier knowing that the fund is still being tended to since she loves charities so much. Flowers are expensive and she only gets to enjoy them for a few hours and has to leave them behind.

Just my thought.  We have a concert schedule coming up and most of it is not filled and I know finances are a big part of that.

What do you think?  I believe in my heart Melinda would be very happy with this.  Feedback is welcome from everyone . Lets get the ball rolling on this!

Thank you Sally,
Your idea is perfect! Just first and last concert Big hug
I know that Melinda loves receiving the backups flowers, but there is no need at this point with all the problems all of us are facing to spend money for flowers that will be left behind or donated to someone else (she cannot possibly carry all the bouquets with her while on tour), and I am sure that she will appreciate if that money will be used instead for charitable projects.

I love your idea, Sally.  Knowing Melinda's heart   Rose   I think she would much rather have the money donated to charity.  And people can let her know in a PM or email.   Thumbs Up   Hug

Hey, Holly . . .Sally and I spoke about this. She is not saying that people can't opt to send flowers to some of the in- between cities, but in the tough economic times, we don't think that we can get flowers to all the cities nor would it be appropriate to solicit flower money donations under the circumstances so as a group we will just work on making sure she has flowers at the first and last MWS concert like Sally commented. And if individuals want to send her flowers at intermediate stops or donate to one of her charities and send her note telling her so, they should definitely do that too.   Hug

But I did want to add what a big heart you have.

ETA:  Does someone already signed up want to switch to take the first concert in Youngstown this coming weekend?
