A first task for those wishing to help with promotions
« on: December 16, 2007, 09:40:43 pm »
One thing that would be very useful is for us to build up a database of local press and radio station contacts, so when we have a press release to send out, we have a series of addresses we can send it to.

We have a "wiki" at which we can use to create useful information such as these contacts.

First make yourself familiar with the wiki - you can edit the pages and then they display.  Words with Capital Letters in the middle page references are special and make new pages which you can link to.  As you can see, I have already created a page called  called Backups:Contacts_Database, and made to entries for JimChandler and WoodyWood, the two presenters on the 107.5 the River show which hosted Melinda on her homecoming.  I made notes to say I was in contact with them.

You can get straight at the ContactsDatabase page with this URL

So what I would like you to do is to collect contacts.  Preferably with e-mail addresses and some details of who they are.  Use the examples I used to give you an example of how to do it.

I think we are looking for journalists who cover the entertainment industry in local or regional (or national if we can find them) papers.

Edited because put up better software - its the same software that is used in Wikipedia

I'll gather together the local contacts I used when we were promoting her Franklin concert to the Nashville press.  Rock On sign
